This week on the podcast: A FEAST of Fragrance News & Reviews!

This week, Suzy and Nicola were getting into the spirit of ‘spooky season’ with scented storytelling, catching up on fragrance news and sniffing their way through everything from fizzy cola and whisky warmth to sultry florals and swelling seas. There’s also news of a fragrant shopping destination returning to London, and plenty to tempt all of your senses…

The On The Scent Podcast two-times award-winning Halloween Scented Stories bring together spooky storytelling and fragrance, pairing a tale with scents to conjure its atmosphere. The story unfolded daily @onthescentpodcast on their Instagram stories (and are now available to catch up fully in Highlights (the circle beneath their bio).

Our olfactorially obsessed duo also discussed the new issue of On The Scent Magazine which we are writing as we speak (well, type), and about the glorious Autumn issue you can catch up with - available to purchase in print or read online.

Suzy reminded listeners of Amanda Carr’s brilliant news blogs (all the fragrant happenings your nose needs to know, updated fortnightly); and Suzy’s own ‘Take 5 Fragrances’ column where a differing theme is explored in scent each time.

Now, here’s some news Suzy & Nicola are really excited about, and we’re sure a lot of the podcast listeners will want to visit @thepopupperfumery again this year! It’s ‘A collaborative project between independent fragrance brands and retailers. A space for scent lovers to shop and meet perfumers and founders.’ Talking about what you can expect (and a certain famous fragrance critic who was wowed by last year’s edition and will surely return again for a sniff around…) there’s so much to feast on in this episode, we suggest you avail yourselves of something delicious, and dig in….!

Are you a regular listener? We know we’re biased, but any perfume-lover who isn’t tuning in on a regular basis is missing out. On The Scent podcast was part of the inspiration for this website (and our magazine): a podcast destination for anyone fascinated by fragrance, or keen to learn more. A place where perfume snobbery is stripped away, and fragrance is accessible to all.

What began as a monthly sniff-in on the Outspoken Beauty podcast soon became so popular in its own right (and with so many listeners sending in questions and asking for more), that On The Scent just had to go weekly – this time on its own perfumed platform! Today, the podcast regularly attracts over 40,000 listeners per show.

Encompassing everything from icons and all-time classics to what’s new on the high street via the more niche indie brands, beauty broadcaster and columnist Nicola Bonn and award-winning fragrance journalist and expert Suzy Nightingale give personalised perfume prescriptions, describing fragrances in such an intoxicating way you can almsot smell them and help navigate the thousands of scents out there to find the truly incredible ones. Also, expect interviews with well-known figures, delving into their favourite scents of all time, and opportunities to get to know some of the most exciting perfumers in the world.
